Military Coup in
Thailand
BANGKOK,
September 21, 2006

Thailand
that started on 19 September is becoming clear we can report that the
impact on Thailand's tourism sector has so far been minimal and that visitors should
definitely continue with their plans to visit the country.
There have been no
reports of violence, civil disorder or mass protests. This has been a
bloodless coup. Armed forces leaders have appeared on Thai language
television appealing for support and continued peace. A new government
is being formed and will be in place within two-weeks. In the meantime a
military council is in charge of
Thailand
and has guaranteed law and order.
